a fairytale garden…

This garden… this is where we will be staying for our time in Sweden… I get to live in a fairytale garden for 4 weeks… There are peonies exploding every morning… bigger than my hands! Pinks Reds Whites! The roses are so fragrant I can hardly describe it… You know the soap section of TJMaxx where there are rose oils and soaps… well that’s so not it!!! These roses are old… they tell a story… they are thick and winding… they at times look eerie like little rose monsters… you have to follow the stems as they lurk around the buds… and then you have it … a cluster of half opened buds which have me longing for more… The roses that have blossomed you look at and cannot help but smile… how can something so perfect be any more beautiful… and then you smell them…

Do you ever think of roses as little hats… do the fairies at night parade around the garden wearing little petal hats? or do they wear them as skirts? If I was a fairy I would totally wear fuchsia petals!

There are trails for the girls to frolic around… they twirl in and out, under rose arbors and through pathways to little chairs and toys just big enough for children… Sometime you should really sit in a garden to imagine how it must feel to be a child height … it’s another way to see this pretty world… everything is new again… you should try it…

We’re so happy to be this sweet little girl’s auntie and uncle as well as God-Parents!!! She is a ray of light that makes us all smile big!

cousins… melting my heart…

The evening time is for helping out in the garden… and looking for snails. Whoever knows what time it is… could be 10pm, could be 11… the sun never goes this time of year, so we play until we’re tired. They birds are always singing…
These girls love digging in the dirt with their grandmother. The smells of the herbs and fresh garlic is such a treat…
