gosh, exploring in a giant forest was amazing!
The girls thud thud thud on the floor of the forest was amazing!
We had a blast! Mountains! rivers! hiking!

yes, this may look familiar?… no? it was in the movie
The Hunger Games!
Triple Falls! it’s so pretty! The power and energy in a waterfall is so fantastic! You feel so powerful and scared all at once!
The crazy thrashing of the water is so loud and you just want to get closer and closer but are so scared to fall in…

can I just say that these “keens” are the most important things for hiking! not only do they grip like mad but they don’t slip off your feet when you swim in rivers! or slide down rocks!
I almost fell down a little hill while holding our 3 year old of course… but these shoes totally stopped my fall… and the twig that held us from falling totally didn’t pierce my foot thank you hard flexisole KEENS!!
and Keens… just sayin… if you ever need a family to rave and cheer for you just call… just in case. 🙂

we would look something like this…

while driving this sweet little sign caught my eye…
it was small and yellow and the word “honey” was written so sweet!
so a little turn around was in order and back we went to the honey house…
The house was really perfect set in a forest and the screen on the door was just screaming open me and listen to my screach… just like in the movies… front porch… smells of lunch cooking… dog sleeping… perfect!
So this sweet old lady answered and begged us to come in and see all the honey…
I didn’t take a picture but it was really a nice day… talking with her… listening to where the honey was from… and best of all seeing pics of her Grandchildren displayed on ever surface…
warmed us up…
and my gosh the honey was great! still have some! the comb inside is my favorite part to see!

this was a good day! a great day! a day I want to do again!
Do you ever see your children and try to breath in that happiness… like really enjoy it… really!
That’s what I did just here… seeing them play in the waterfall… how many times do you really get to do that… at least when you’re from Florida…
I didn’t mind the thought of slipping down… scinning a knee… rattle snake… I knew we were safe… we had to be… we had to live this part in our life … A LOT!!!
Sometimes you have to live so hard that you don’t really need to worry about snakes… bears… but more so worry about blinking!
you may miss something…

we really got our camping on… camping really is something special… I know I know…it can be hard… it can be exhausting… but there is something special… some memories fade but these camping memories are lasting!
being together… like in a tent… breathing together… hugging each other… working together to make a fire… hauling dishes to be washed… hanging towels to be dried… memories!
kids love to camp! they love most of all being together… falling asleep to the forest breathing… crickets chirping… fireflies buzzing… fire crackling…
we love it too

the people you meet while camping… they give you the camp nod… the hello my people nod… you are a camper too…
you know nature… we are alike… we shower in tiny showers and look for spiders in the corners…why… because it’s camping!
because being totally in nature together with your family team makes you feel powerful and at one with nature… it’s hard to describe but only fellow campers feel it… and once you have… you’ll want to do it again… and again…
