lately… well always… I get that heart in my throat feeling… as I watch my girls growing… growing from babies into little girls… I try so hard to take everything in… it’s the only way to slow life down…..
watching her learn something is huge I know… watching the pride in her face as she gets something correct is purely adorable… tears fill my eyes as she looks up at me and smiles… she knows I’m a sappy mamma with a big huge heart that could swallow my babies whole!
look at the tongue! I love it! I love little one’s fingers… their knuckles dimple as they start to grow into their skin… beautiful.
so she is happily interested in letters now… just last night as we were tucking her in to bed… she was drifting off to sleep and mumbled something… I leaned down and whispered what did you say… b… b… bbbbb Bradenton.. (the next town up from us) funny little sweetie! at first when it came to letters she was frustrated and wanted nothing to do with them! She goes to a Montessori preschool and their philosophy is to not force them to learn… have them run to it… so I backed off… I mean really… she’s 4… does it matter. but I knew in my heart it bothered her a bit to not know all of her letters… but lately she is pointed to letters all the time… noticing them… saying their sounds.. she’s so happy about it! Her preschool teacher said to me that she was so proud at school to help some of the younger students with learning a bit about Brazil… he said she is quite confident in her learning now! makes me smile!
